Story of the Founders

Dr. Abdullah Sarhan and Julia St. Amand co‑founded RetinaLogik while at the University of Calgary, combining Abdullah’s deep learning background in vision science and Julia’s dual training in kinesiology and business to reimagine accessible eye care. Motivated by Abdullah’s research trip to Uganda and a shared drive for social impact, they developed a portable VR‑based vision screening platform to increase access to early detection and treatment of retinal conditions.
